Rob visits Philips in Bothell with Mayor Lamb

05/16/2012

In a recent visit to Bothell, Rob met with Mayor Mark Lamb to tour the city's Philips plant, which produces medical equipment and oral healthcare products — think Sonicare toothbrushes.

Headquartered at its Bothell location are Philips' sales and service operations for the continent, as well as its ultrasound business. Approximately 1,800 people are employed here, including a team of professional ultrasound operators who actually test the devices on themselves, which made for an unusual but highly interesting portion of the tour.

Rob's Plan for Education

05/14/2012

By: Matt Henderson

It’s no surprise to anyone living in Franklin County, that we’ve experienced tremendous growth on our population over the last decade. Friends and family who aren’t from the area often ask me what is driving the growth. Though many of us know that’s not an easy question to answer because there are so many driving forces, I’m often driven to answer quite simply…people are really figuring out that this is a great part of the state and country to live in! The weather is great, the home prices are affordable, there are lots of great outdoor activities, lots of great wine, the rivers, parks, trails, etc.

If you’ve lived in the area throughout this population boom, you’ve also likely seen the strain that can be put on local resources to support the increasing population, as well as stay ahead of the growth and plan for yet more growth in the future. Perhaps the most visible and “top of mind” impact that most people see relates to the strain put on our school districts.

05/08/2012

By: Mathew Patrick Thomas

This past Saturday May 5th, turned out to be a spectacular spring day to doorbell for Rob McKenna! The weather was sunny and warm as volunteers and campaign staff walked selected neighborhoods knocking on doors to get the word out on the Rob McKenna for Governor Campaign.

Across King County teams participated in the Super Saturday event by handing out campaign literature and answering questions about the campaign from the residents we visited.

The Seattle/North King County Steering Committee is excited to announce the creation of two new social media pages to get the word out on the Rob McKenna for Governor Campaign in the Seattle/North King County area!

These two sites will be monitored and managed by Seattle/North King County Steering Committee members from now until Election Day. If you are member of Twitter please 'follow us' at @Seattle4McKenna. If you are a member of Facebook, please 'like' us at Seattle for Rob McKenna!

Education – A Paramount Issue

05/08/2012

By: Nathan T. Perea

There is one very simple reason that voters all across our state can unite in support for Rob in his bid for Governor – His depth and understanding on the issues.

Never before have we seen a candidate with such mastery over the complexities and nuances of our State’s most pressing needs and nowhere else is this more evident than in Rob’s plans for public education.

By: Tony Aronica

Although water finds the path of least resistance; water-users in Eastern Washington have found few issues as contentious and difficult to mediate as consistent access to water. Battles over water rights in the Yakima River Basin are older than Washington's statehood.
