McKenna campaign passes $1 million mark in governor race

Supporters from across Washington State continued to demonstrate their enthusiasm for helping Rob McKenna become their next Governor, contributing over $340,000 in July and allowing his campaign to pass the $1 million dollar raised mark in the less than two months since he launched his gubernatorial campaign on June 8.

"I am so thankful for the people who have joined our campaign to set a New Direction for Washington State," said McKenna, who first won election as Attorney General in 2004. "Everywhere I go people are telling me that I have their support to bring a new accountability to Olympia, and to make the right choices to help turn our state around.

"My supporters know that small business owners want predictability and stability from state government, so they can concentrate on growing their businesses and hiring new employees,” McKenna continued. “My campaign is focused on the kind of state Washington can become, and the support we are receiving clearly shows many people agree we can do better."

The July monthly reports filed with the state’s Public Disclosure Commission today show that Friends of Rob McKenna finished July with contributions of $1,008,116.29. That total includes $21,005 from donors who re-allocated contributions they had previously made to his Attorney General re-election account. The campaign finished the month with $659,222.51 in the bank.
